David C. Orlowski: A Tribute

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of David C. Orlowski on March 29, 2021.

Dave Orlowski, or DCO as most knew him, was an innovator in rotating equipment reliability, inventing the Bearing Isolator and founding Inpro/Seal in the mid 1970’s. The Inpro/Seal® Bearing Isolator helped revolutionize industrial manufacturing by extending rotating equipment life with permanent bearing protection. A dedicated entrepreneur, Dave had an insatiable drive to improve the products and processes around him. He was a true innovator who made an impact on the industry and everyone he worked with. During his career, he received more than 50 patents, ranging from bearing protection to air seals to shaft grounding rings to golf clubs. He was the first to add titanium inserts to persimmon drivers, paving the way for modern golf club technology.

For all his achievements and innovations, Dave will be remembered most for his kindness, generosity and loyalty. He had a kind soul that believed in people and always saw the best they had to offer. He took many under his wing, with the patience to let them grow as both employees and people. Dave Orlowski was larger than life in what he accomplished professionally and what he meant to those who knew him.

Dave’s passion for Inpro/Seal was surpassed only by his love for his family and friends. Since retiring in 2009, he spent his time with his family, his children and grandchildren. Please join all of us at Inpro/Seal in remembering Dave Orlowski. He will be missed.
